SENDING YOUR CLOCK TO US
Please Email us before sending your clock so that we can confirm suitability for repair. Clocks sent without contacting us which turn out to be unsuitable for repair will be subject to a charge to cover return postage.
Pack your clock well in bubble wrap and please include a note of your name and return address so that we can identify it as yours. Once your clock has arrived we will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received it. If the clock is housed in a rev-counter or speedometer please remove it before posting and do not send any rubber gaskets, setting cables or wiring as these are not required for the overhaul.
CUSTOMS ADVICE
Please note that this advice is given in good faith but we are not customs specialists and would urge you to check with your local customs office if you need confirmation of customs charges.
VAT and Customs duty We are not VAT registered and do not charge VAT on our products or services. In some cases (e.g. within the EU) your country may charge VAT on incoming goods in which case you will need to pay this directly to your customs office or postal service who may also charge an administration fee.
Orders dispatched to locations outside the UK are sent with a "CN22" or "CN23" customs label declaring the value of the goods. Our experience is that repair kits often do not attract any customs duty but If duty is charged then you will be liable for this cost. Kits dispatched to the EU are not subject to customs duty but will be liable for VAT.
Incoming Customs Charges
Goods sent to the UK will incur VAT and duty if the total value of the consignment is above 135 GBP. In this case the charge will be passed on to the customer as we have no other way of recovering these costs. In practice most clocks which are sent to us are not working and are valued below this threshold.
Outgoing Customs and VAT Charges
Returned clocks are marked "Returned after Repair" and the declared customs value is the cost of the repair. Depending on the rules in your country you may be asked to pay import duty on the returned clock. If you are based in the EU your country may charge VAT on incoming goods from the UK in which case you will need to pay this directly to your customs office or postal service who may also charge an administration fee.
